From Poverty to Promise: Churches Transform Communities

In a small Salvadoran village, the sound of hammers and hope fills the air. What starts as a framework of block and beam soon becomes a sacred space where laughter, worship, and renewal echo through the walls. Across El Salvador, this simple yet strong church design is more than just a place to gather—it’s sparking spiritual revival and rebuilding lives from the ground up.

This April, you have a unique opportunity to step directly into that story.

For one week, you work side by side with a team—serving, building, and investing in something that will outlast your time there. Through shared effort, meaningful relationships, and moments you will never forget, you witness firsthand the joy and anticipation of families who will gather in this new church for generations to come.

Our very own Jeremy Godwin is leading this team, offering a rare opportunity for individuals who feel called to serve on a short-term mission trip.

Communities throughout El Salvador are marked by poverty and pain, yet in the midst of hardship and a deep hunger for hope. Every new church rises as a radiant beacon of transformation—where faith flourishes, families are restored, and entire communities are renewed by the love of Christ.

Description:

This 36’x48’ pole barn–style church, designed to seat up to 100 people, provides a durable and beautiful space for worship and community gatherings. Constructed with block walls by volunteer teams, this simple yet strong design meets both spiritual and physical needs. With many villages still waiting, this simple church model offers a powerful way to bring stability and hope—one community, one congregation, one building at a time.

Benefits:

This project plants roots for lasting change. More than walls and a roof, a permanent church becomes a sanctuary of faith, a hub for outreach, and a gathering place where lives are transformed. By equipping local believers with a safe and a permanent place to gather and grow in faith, this initiative nurtures spiritual growth, strengthens unity, and ignites long-term transformation across El Salvador.

Meet The MISSIONARIES

In the heart of El Salvador, Kenton and Eunice Moody are leading a movement of hope and transformation. Serving as missionary pastors in Santa Ana, the Moodys have spent the past 16 years empowering local pastors, strengthening communities, and sharing the love of Christ across the nation.

Through their growing ministry—Open Door Church, the Center of Hope job training program, Hosanna School, the Living Free rehabilitation program, and more—they’re bringing light to some of the most broken places.

Now, in partnership with Builders International, they’re helping launch a new season of growth by building five new churches throughout rural El Salvador—each one a beacon of faith, stability, and renewal.

Our Project Life Certified seal means you can have confidence knowing you are helping where HOPE is needed most.

The Mulitple-Church Project in El Salvador has been thoroughly vetted through our Project Life certification process. This means your generous contributions and mission teams will be highly effective in moving this project forward to completion.
