Mission Trip Fundraising Ideas

“Brazil-bound” in August, Stacy and Christi will build a church along the Amazon River with Builders International! Before they board the riverboat for a week, they decided to do some fundraising to offset the costs of their upcoming trip! Earlier this week, they held a fundraiser in Bismarck, North Dakota. It was a super success, as their families helped them wait tables at Pizza Ranch. The restaurant allowed Stacy and Christi to create tip jars to place on every table in the restaurant. The ladies got creative and made it more than just a tip jar! They wanted to influence the customers at each table and share the gospel with them too. So, the jars included fun facts about Brazil and Builders International, as well as a scripture verse and a thank you note from both ladies! Pizza Ranch will donate 20% of their sales during a four-hour window that evening to Stacy and Christi’s trip, plus they got to keep 100% of their gratuity from the tip jars! The outcome was way more than either Stacy or Christi expected!

Other Builders team members raised funds earlier this year by putting their craftiness to use! They sold wooden, hand-painted signs. An idea another team member successfully used was creating a “GoFundMe” account.

If you’ve been thinking about going on a missions trip, but the cost is a factor, consider the many different fundraising opportunities out there. Once you begin brainstorming ideas, you’ll find there are numerous possibilities! We’d love to hear what you’ve done to successfully raise money for your missions trip!
