From Numb to New: Vladimir’s Story of Redemption and the House That Hope Built
For twenty-five years, Vladimir spiraled through the chaos of addiction. Fifteen of those years were consumed by heroin—a drug that stole not only his health, but his identity, his dignity, and nearly his life. Although raised in a loving, supportive family, he lost his way to a world of deception, destruction, and despair. By the time he hit rock bottom, Vladimir was physically broken, emotionally numb, and spiritually hollow. Hope felt like a distant memory—if it had ever been real at all.
But that all began to change the day he walked through the doors of a Crossroads Rehabilitation Center in Serbia, recently expanded and renovated by Builders International.
Unlike the many places he had cycled through before, Crossroads didn’t just offer detox, but they provided something more profound. An opportunity to rebuild—not just his body, but his life. Vladimir arrived skeptical, hardened, and militantly atheist. Faith was foreign to him, and frankly, offensive. But with nothing left to lose, he agreed to follow the program with an open mind.
That program included more than therapy and routine. It included daily rhythms of prayer, worship, Bible study, and something called “Trust”—a time of personal devotion and reflection. At first, it was just that—a routine. But day by day, brick by brick, something began to shift. The Scriptures he once mocked began to echo truths he couldn’t ignore. The songs he had rolled his eyes at stirred something in his soul. The people around him weren’t just surviving—they were living with purpose.
And Vladimir wanted that, too.
There was no lightning bolt. No overnight miracle. Just the quiet, steady work of grace. His mornings, once filled with dread, became moments of joy. He found himself rising early, eager to meet the day. Chores took on meaning. Conversations mattered. And for the first time in decades, he began to dream—not of escape, but of a future.
Today, Vladimir is not just clean—he’s free! He envisions a life filled with purpose: marriage, family, meaningful work, and a heart full of gratitude. And this transformation took place inside the very walls that the generous Builders community helped shape—brick and mortar made sacred by the lives being rebuilt within them.
Thanks to the generous support of giving partners, Crossroads Rehabilitation Center is now FINISHED and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony just a few weeks ago! The rehab center now stands stronger than ever, ready to receive more men like Vladimir.

The foundation is complete, the steel structure is up, and the block walls are going up now!!
Bahamas - Marsh Harbour
The foundation is complete and footers are in place. Teams have begun putting up block walls. Interior work still to be completed. Currently scheduling teams
Bahamas - Treasure Cay
FINISHED! Hosted the Bahamian General Council this summer and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony!
Belgium - Continental Theological Seminary - Phase 1
Phase One is complete! Students have moved in! Phase 2 has already begun.
Bosnia - Valley of Blessing Youth Camp
FINISHED! Students have gathered for youth camps this summer!
Builders International - Building Renovation
Interior and exterior renovations are completed. The building has been dedicated and is being used for God’s glory!
Chile - Santiago Children’s Ministry Center
Work continues on the ministry center daily. Teams are currently being hosted, and new teams continue to be scheduled.
Colombia - Justice & Bible Institute
Ground is broken and work has begun!
Czech Republic - Church Without Borders
Remodel is underway.
Ecuador - Timothy’s Abode
Work on the building continues. The prayer tower and exterior solar lights are now complete.
Ecuador - Jungle Bible School
The two-meter mesh steel fence around the property is now complete. Plans are being made for the construction of two additional dormitories and staff apartments. Work continues to bring this facility to completion.
El Salvador - Marriage & Family Counseling Center
The third floor of the building is moving to completion. Scheduling teams now as we push toward the finish line.
France - Beauvais Church
Teams are scheduling for 2026.
France - Multiple Church Project
Several projects are moving forward as funding is disbursed. Teams are currently scheduling.
Germany - Haus Antioch Ministry Center
Putting final touches on the project.
Honduras - Jehovah Jireh Church
FINISHED! Construction is complete, and the church is now reaching the community with the hope of Jesus!
India - Calcutta Mercy Hospital
Funds continue to be received for this vital remodel project.
Israel - Jerusalem School Bethlehem
Construction has begun. The children are particularly thrilled about the newly completed playground, which brings joy during recess time, allowing students to simply be kids — a welcome break from the constant conflict in this region.
Kosovo - The Hope Center
Finalizing project – nearing completion! Grand opening scheduled for Spring of 2025.
Mexico - Restoration of Life Church
Close to completion. One team and $10K could wrap it up. Still needed – bathroom fixtures, windows, and divider walls in the shower area. Approximately $10,000 would complete the project.

Nicaragua - Casa de Mi Gloria - Managua Campus
Foundation work is in progress. Teams are being hosted now to work on the project.

Six teams scheduled to build six churches for 2025 with limited space for additional teams.
Poland - 700 Cities Training Center
Construction progress as teams continue to build hope for Poland!
Scotland - Bridge Family Church
The cafe is complete and operating. The next phase of completing exterior landscaping and gathering space is ready to begin.
Serbia - Crossroads Rehabilitation Center
Finished!! Ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication service were held in May and this project is now making a difference in the lives of those who suffer with addiction!
Slovakia - Kendice Church
Work continues on the interior of the building. With funds in hand, the progress continues. Scheduling teams now.
Spain - Project Rescue Safe House - Melilla
Construction is wrapping up. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for November 2025.
Spain - Barcelona International Church
Construction in progress. Teams are currently being hosted.
Spain - Mallorca Christian Center
Construction complete, but funding still needed!
Spain - The Garden: Missionary Respite House
Finishing touches are being put on the project and is almost ready to dedicate.
Sri Lanka - Navinna Church
Taiwan - Agape Church Plant - Zhunan
Fully funded and finished!! This church is reaching the lost with the hope of the gospel!!
Ukraine - Hope in Action Medical Ministry Center
Construction is underway, and the project will advance as funding is available.
Ukraine War Reconstruction - Phase One
Funds are continually being sent to help rebuild churches across Ukraine.
Uruguay - Hope for Uruguay 100
Twenty-eight churches completed, dedicated, and in use for His glory! Teams begin after missionaries return to the country from itineration.
Vanuatu - Tanna Mission Center
Construction is progressing full-speed ahead! The pastor/coordinating house and outdoor restrooms are finished. Now working to finish the ministry training center. Funding is needed to help this project reach its completion.
